Cord strapping is specifically formulated to meet or exceed the break strength of steel banding. Cord strapping is a superior alternative for securing your product during shipping and it also provides a safer work place for your employees and customers. Cord strapping has two important characteristics, namely elongation and memory, that allows it to act like a big industrial rubber band when your product encounters sudden shock from abrupt movements in shipping. |

Strapping
Woven Cord Strapping For shrink-wrapping boats. Boat Packs Cord strapping is used in building a framework for shrink-wrapping boats during the winterization and storage process. Our Cord strap is manufactured with low-elongation material to minimize the amount of stretch that will result from tensioning. Order Now Cord strap is designed to replace and in many ways out-perform steel banding. It is both strong and gentle. It has a little elongation (stretch) combined with memory which then allows it to act like a big industrial rubber band during heavy impact. Therefore, it is less likely to break than steel which lacks these two characteristics. Check out our "About" page for list of other benefits. Woven polyester will help you to be "safe and secure". Order Now Cord Strapping Short Coils are made available primarily as replacement strap for our starter kits. Some companies however like the portability of small coils for their everyday business. They are packaged 10 coils/case. Order Now Bonded Strapping Bonded polyester strapping is sometime also called Uniline. It is made up of straight-line polyester filaments that are glued together. There is no cross weave in bonded material. It is often used where high break strengths are not required. It can be fastened with a buckle or at times is tied with a knot. Short coils are made available primarily as replacement strap for our starter kits. Some companies however like the portability of small coils for their everyday business. They are packaged 10 coils/case Order Now WTW Line Cord Strapping “Woven Tight Wound” Line Cord Strapping is used for strapping applications where high break strengths are not required thereby resulting in some cost savings. Order Now Composite Strapping Composite Strapping is a recent development in non-metallic strapping technology. It is made from High Tenacity Polyester Filament yarns embedded in a polymer coating. Composite Strapping is light, flexible and contains no sharp edges. It is easy to handle. Tension is applied utilizing a simple, economical tool and a high joint efficiency buckle. Order Now Rayon Strapping Rayon strapping is a non-woven strap that has a greater amount of elongation (stretch) than does polyester. It also has a lower break strength. It is tan in color. Rayon was the first manufactured fiber and it is made from wood pulp. Order Now

Accident Trends
by
Ron Landram, Vice President, Risk Services-Nevada
According to Ron, of Nevada Contractors Insurance, data collection points to increased accidents directly related to cutting, removing, and disposing of banding material, that high tension metal strapping, of which is used to secure pallets of material and bundles of pipe and wood.
One individual received a fairly long and deep gash in his cheek, resulting from cutting banding with a hatchet. When the band flew apart, it missed his eye by a couple of inches.
Another accident occurred when a worker was cutting strapping from a bundle of plastic pipe. He was standing on the bundle. Guess what happened when he cut the last strap. You guessed it! Down he went, injuring himself and sending pipe everywhere.
Still a third person was carrying banding material to the scrap pile, when this ball of metal snakes decided to fight back. The result was a cut in the throat area. Not too serious, but it could have been fatal.
